we recommend that Mr. Lau Chung-pun, 3rd Forester

shall draw at the rate of $800 per annum from the 1st

of January, 1930, with increments on his former

incremental date, i.e. 15th of "ovember.

Doubt has arisen as to the revised salaries

to be allotted to certain Garden -and Forestry-Foremen.

We recommend as follows :-

Garden Foreman Li Shu to be paid at the rate of

$288 per annum from 1.1.30. and $300 per annum from

1.5.30.

Garden Foreman Leung Hi to be paid at the rate of $264 per annum from 1.1.30. and $276 from 1.2.30.

Forestry Foreman Li Chun to be paid at the rate of $264 per annum from 1.1.30. and $276 from 15.1.30.

Forestry Foreman Hau Ho tobe paid at the rate of $264 per annum from 1.1.30. and $276 from 1.2.30.

48.

The gate-keeping allowance ($24 per annum) to

the Park Keeper of the Botanical Gardens and the Forest- Guard allowance ($36 per annum) to the Forester at

Cheung Chau are recommended for retention on revision.

49. The post of motor driver in this department

has been created subsequently to the Salaries Report.

We recommend that the standard revised salary for this

class of officer $550 $50 - $650 shall be allotted to it.

SECTION 28.

Education Department.

50. Mr. Handyside, Master on the British Staff of

the Education Department has represented that the salary

allotted to him on revision does not carry out the general
